The production process of luggage hardware parts

The production of hardware for luggage and bags is a systematic engineering process that integrates design, precision manufacturing, and surface treatment. The main process can be summarized into the following key stages:

 

1. Design and Mold Development

Our engineering team conducts technical evaluations and feasibility analyses on the customer's design drawings, samples, or specific requirements, performs precise 3D modeling, generates detailed engineering drawings, selects the appropriate mold type based on the product structure, and manufactures high-precision molds. After mold trials, the first batch of samples is produced. Based on feedback, the molds are adjusted and optimized until they fully meet the requirements.

2. Selection and Preparation of Raw Materials

Select appropriate raw materials based on product performance requirements . Commonly used materials include zinc alloy  aluminum  stainless steel  copper and copper alloysiron/steel. All incoming raw materials are subject to strict inspection to ensure compliance with standards.

3.  Forming Processing  

A:Die Casting (Mainly for zinc and aluminum alloys) - Molten alloy is injected at high pressure and high speed into a precision mold cavity.

B:Stamping (Mainly for stainless steel, copper, iron plates/strip materials) - Utilizing a press and dies, sheet metal/strip materials are processed through shearing, bending, stretching, forming, and punching.

C:Machining (CNC Machining) - Precision cutting of metal bars, tubes, or die-cast/stamped blanks is carried out using CNC lathes, milling machines, drilling machines, etc.

4. Rough Processing and Finishing  

Mainly involves deburring, polishing, shaping/correction, cleaning/oil and grease removal, preparing for surface treatment.

5.  Surface Treatment 

 Endowing products with functionality and aesthetic appeal, Such as Electroplating, Painting/Powder Coating, PVD - Physical Vapor Deposition, Anodizing (mainly for aluminum alloys), Other treatments: such as brushing, sandblasting (matte effect), laser engraving (logos/patterns), aging (antique effect), post-testing

6. Assembly

For hardware items composed of multiple components (such as buckles, locks, and pulley assemblies), after the completion of their individual production and surface treatment, precise assembly is carried out. Finally, functional testing is required.

7. Comprehensive Quality Inspection and Packaging

All finished products undergo 100% inspection, covering appearance, dimensions, functionality, and surface treatment. Individual packaging is carried out as per customer requirements, with emphasis on protection against scratches, compression, and moisture. Clear labeling of product information, quantity, production batch number, etc. is provided.
